The play is about Victoria Clay Haley, a suffragist, and President of the Federated Women's Clubs of St. Louis. She quickly emerged as a leader in the suffrage movement in St. Louis. In 1913, Haley attended the Mississippi Valley Suffrage Convention in St. Louis. Her presence in the all-white hotel caused a stir, and despite being asked to leave by management, Haley remained in her seat. The play explores that experience and her subsequent rise in the national movement.
This event is open to the public and free of charge. A light salad supper will be served.
Please call STL Village at 314-240-5020 to register.
